Structural terminology and characteristics of several important parts of luggage

1、 Shoulder strap (hand held):
The terminology of this part is the same as the common name. The fabric of the shoulder strap is usually made of the bag body's "fabric" or "ingredients", with a structure of two layers, front and back, and a layer of bottom support PVC (PVC is divided into two types, one for making fabric and the other for bottom support) or "leather bran paper" (leather bran paper is a substance similar to kraft paper, with some kraft debris inside.), and the connection between the shoulder strap and the bag body is usually made of "hook" or "circle" hardware, Hardware hooks are generally prone to damage in the "connection" and "spring" parts, so be careful when buying a bag! If it's a "iron wire" circle, pay more attention to the interface part of the circle. Some circles are made of "alloy" die-casting and do not have interfaces, so this type of hardware can rest assured!
2、 Pocket opening zipper:
A zipper is composed of three parts: a zipper, a zipper, and a pull tag! The two sides of a zipper are usually made of nylon material, and the "zipper teeth" in the middle are mainly divided into two types: "rubber teeth" and "metal teeth". How to distinguish the quality of a zipper? Firstly, check if the "zipper teeth" have fallen off (in minor areas); Secondly, pull the zipper a few more times to see if the connection between the zipper and the zipper is smooth; Thirdly, after tightening the zipper, bend a part of the zipper with a greater force. While bending, check for cracks (zipper teeth), and those without cracks are good; Fourthly, look at the gap between the pull card and the pull head. If the gap is large, the pull card will easily detach from the pull head! Because the pull card is manually fixed to the pull head.
3、 Bag body:
The industry terminology and common names for some parts of the bag body are different. The fabric of the bag body is called "main material", while the fabric of the handle and bag opening, as well as the binding edge, is called "ingredient". The front of the bag body is called the "front panel", the back panel is called the "back panel", the left and right sides are called the "side panels", the outer pocket of the bag body is called the "outer insert bag", the inner insert bag is called the "inner insert bag", the middle pocket of the inner body is called the "middle insert bag", the cover surface of the bag mouth is called the "cover head", the buckle connecting the cover head to the bag body is called the "Li Zai", and the two parts connecting the hand to the bag mouth are called the "ear Zai". The structure of the bag body is generally three layers, 1. The outer layer is made of fabric; 2. The middle layer is made of backing PVC or cardboard, sponge, "light glue", "rebound glue", "non woven fabric", and "leather paper", which can be identified based on their hand feel. The harder the hand feel, the thicker the cardboard or PVC, the neutral the rebound glue, leather paper, or softer the PVC, and the softer the adhesive is light glue, not woven fabric or sponge; 3. The innermost layer is the lining, which is commonly made of nylon (190D, 210D, 240D, etc.), cotton cloth, and "satin" (a fabric with silk characteristics), etc. The left and right sides of the bag body have the same structure as the bag body. The bottom of the bag body is usually adhered with thick "bottom support PVC"!
4、 Fabric:
Fabric classification: natural leather, PU leather, PVC material, nylon material, canvas, plush fabric, and so on.
Natural leather is also divided into "first layer leather" and "second layer leather". "first layer leather" is a complete and high-quality animal leather processed to make fabric for high and medium grade bags; Double skin "is a material made from the broken skin of some animals and the bottom layer of animal skin, used to make fabric for mid to low end bags
Both PU leather and PVC material are artificial leather, and the material used for PU leather is better than PVC material. The quality of artificial leather is closely related to the production process in addition to the material. Some artificial leather with very good production process is also very expensive. The color, feel, and some special comfort effects of artificial leather all depend on the production process! The plush material mainly depends on whether it is real wool or imitation wool, which can be distinguished by the touch. The touch of real wool is like the touch on a cat's body; The quality of nylon and canvas mainly depends on the "density" of the fabric, and people with knowledge of the clothing industry are good at distinguishing their quality!
5、 Hardware:
Hardware is generally divided into two types based on material: "iron wire" and "alloy". How can we distinguish them? Just use a magnet, the one that can hold onto is the iron wire, while the one that cannot hold onto is the alloy. The hardware made of "alloy" material appears more exquisite in terms of craftsmanship than the hardware made of "iron wire", while the hardware made of "iron wire" appears rougher. Alloy is more expensive than iron wire! Sometimes, after buying a bag, the hardware rusts and the surface layer begins to peel off. This is the reason why there is no "oil sealing" during hardware production. Hardware without oil sealing is prone to oxidation and rust, and the surface material of the hardware after "oil sealing" is not easy to oxidize with air.
6、 Line (term 'vehicle line'):
The outer part of the bag body is usually made of 20 # (thicker) nylon thread, while the inner part is usually made of 40 # (thinner) nylon thread. The inner lining is usually made of cotton thread (604 is thicker, 606 is thinner). The color requirements of each part of the car line should match the color of the fabric, visually coordinated and consistent. The handbag industry requires a stitch density of "one inch seven stitches" for the "car line", and generally high and medium grade bags are manufactured strictly according to this standard.
7、 Edge oil:
The fabric of the bag body, the armband, and the "seam" of the wrapping are all coated with "edge oil" (paint) of the same color as the above parts, and some MM may not pay much attention to this position. (The price of edge oil varies from 17 to 60 yuan/kg based on the quality) The effect of applying good edge oil is smooth to the touch, with a relatively "soft" color sense, and coordinated with the fabric; The edge oil is almost rough in texture and has a darker color! The main concern of edge oil is to avoid cracking due to seasonal temperature differences. Good edge oil requires the process (chemical raw material composition) to be prepared according to local weather conditions during the production process (coating factory). Generally, the requirements for this part are very strict during the production process of high and medium grade bags, but for low-grade bags, let's not talk about it!
Compared to products such as fashion bags, wallets, and briefcases, the production process of trolley cases is relatively complex and there is no fixed process. It depends on the structure of the product and the characteristics of the materials used. Generally speaking, the exterior of a trolley box is composed of three major parts: the front part, the rear part, and the circumference. As for the internal components, they are relatively not very complex. Therefore, when arranging production, it is mainly based on the number of lathe workers, countertop workers, and hardware assemblers on the factory production line, as well as their familiarity with technical skills, to make a reasonable allocation.
