Luggage generally refers to various containers that can be used to hold items and are easy to carry. At present, luggage products have a clear classification in the International Harmonized System of Goods (HS) code. The classification of luggage in the field of national quality standards is based on its purpose. So, currently, the definition of luggage in China is not very consistent with the internationally accepted classification.
1. Classification of Luggage in the International Harmonized System Code (HS)
According to the International Harmonized System (HS) classification standard, luggage products mainly correspond to "suitcases, handbags, and similar containers" (HS code 4202), which includes three categories and a total of 14 subcategories:
(1) Plastic textile bags, including:
① A suitcase made of plastic or textile materials (HS code 42021210);
② Plastic or textile material facing suitcases, small handbags, etc. (HS code 42021290);
③ Handbags made of plastic or textile materials (HS code 42022200);
④ Items made of plastic or textile materials placed in pockets or handbags (HS code 42023200);
⑤ Other similar containers made of plastic sheets or textile materials (HS code 42029200);
(2) Leather luggage
① Leather, recycled leather or patent leather finished suitcases (HS code 42021110);
② Leather, recycled leather or patent leather surface suitcases, small handbags, etc. (HS code 42021190);
③ Handbags made of leather, recycled leather or patent leather (HS code 42022100);
④ Items with leather surface usually placed in pockets or handbags (HS code 42023100);
⑤ Other similar containers made of leather, recycled leather or lacquer leather (HS code 42029100);
(3) Luggage made of other fabrics
① Other materials such as suitcases, suitcases, small handbags, etc. (HS code 42021900);
② Handbags made of other materials (HS code 42022900);
③ Items usually placed in pockets or handbags made of other materials (HS code 42023900);
④ Other similar containers made of other materials (HS code 42029900).
2. Classification of Luggage in National Economic Statistics
According to the latest national standard "Classification of National Economic Industries" (GB/T 4754-2002) implemented in 2002, the luggage industry in China's national economic industry classification mainly refers to leather based luggage production enterprises, which are divided into two categories: "Leather manufacturing industry" (industry classification code C1924) and "Leather manufacturing industry" (industry classification code C1925).
3. Classification of "Luggage" in Current National Standards
There is no directly corresponding standard for luggage products in China's national quality standards, only in the "Adhesives for Footwear and Luggage" (GB 19340-2003), "luggage" is mentioned.
In industry standards, the current standards for the leather industry include "luggage" in the "leather goods" category, mainly referring to travel luggage and various backpacks. There are 6 categories related to luggage in the classification:
(1) Briefcase (QB/T 1332-91);
(2) Backpack (QB/T 1333-2004);
(3) Household suitcase (QB/T 1585-92);
(4) Leather ticket holder (QB/T 1619-2006);
(5) Travel Luggage (QB/T 2155-2004);
(6) Business Case (QB/T 2277-96).
Classification of packages
Bags are classified according to their style and purpose: daily bags (leisure bags, fashion bags, banquet and evening wear bags, tube bags, di bags, waist bags, beach bags, makeup bags, silver bags), business and professional bags (women's bags, men's bags, briefcases), sports and travel bags, special bags (student bags, computer bags, camera bags, phone bags, key bags), creative bags, etc.
1. Leisure bag

8. Makeup bag
